‘What happened to the male identity?’ Part 1 By Robert Kirby

Hey guys,

Have you observed how uncertain modern men are? The new generation of males seem to have confused open hearted vulnerability with passivity and uncertainty. How could this have happened? What do you think is the underlying trend?

I could speculate with a few observations. Men have not yet recovered from the feminist movement. This shift needed to happen. Modern women have truly taken their power back. They feel equal to males in many instances and continue to fight for their well-deserved rights. What women wanted was equality with men, for men to listen and become more vulnerable but not passive.

This response has left men in pain. We males have unfinished business with one another. Who are we? Where do we go from here? Perhaps you feel there is nothing to change. Today’s men are fine. Let it be. I know the only thing that is inevitable is change. Unless we become more aware and conscious and are willing to claim our lives then the next generation will have no role models. The peaceful warrior will have vanished.

I’m certain that the modern male’s uncertainty is not respected by women. They tell me this frequently. Women still respect a strong man with an open heart. Would it be possible today for men to talk about male issues without feeling threatened? Not in a pub or at the footy match but in a safe non-judgemental environment. Men need men to challenge and support masculinity, to take our power back and initiate passionate dialogue. We need to speak our truth and resolve our issues with both women and men.

I personally feel passionate about coaching men on their issues. I also desire for men to gather and really talk. Not just a whinging session but with profound transformational process. Can you feel how important this is? Look below for a life changing opportunity after the exercise.

Exercise

Close your eyes and see each circle, number and specific colour in your inner imagination. Slowly count backwards from 7-1 visioning each circle’s colour. When you get to 1 (violet) you have entered the alpha state.

Keeping your eyes closed, count backward from 21-1 and then ask yourself the following questions….

1. Do you bounce your great ideas off others? Mother?
2. Do you experience an inner calling or pulsation? Do you trust it?
3. Do you avoid strong women?
4. Do you feel men support each other with emotional issues and negative feelings?
5. Do you feel lost? Like a runaway train of uncertainty?
6. Are you certain of your destiny? Of your masculine sexual identity?

Write down your answers and read below.

Opportunity for Men

Early in my career I facilitated many workshops with men and they loved them and so did I. Sadly the men’s movement burnt out quickly and never matched the feminist movement. What women achieved was an absolute miracle. We males have a way to go to match this growth. Let’s get started this year before we get stuck into the holiday season.

Men Empowering Men

Ever wonder why kids never run out of energy? If they are not suppressed, they just keep flowing from moment to moment. Research (UCLA) shows their creativity peaks at 5 years of age. Why?

Life’s dynamics requires social adaptation that causes us to “hold back”. Most of us eventually put our foot on the brake. Risks, dreams and passion get toned down. Is your spontaneity and creative freedom a thing of the past? Where has it gone?

The truth is that the creative force is still within you. It’s better than ever because you possess wisdom and experience now that you did not possess as a child. If you are like most people, energy and consciousness is bound to prior incidents or moments of crisis and trauma.

This means your Soul Power is scattered in a time warp that you now need back in the present. It’s like driving your car with two flat tyres. Everything becomes a struggle and you slow way down. The slower your energy of life, the more difficult your life becomes. And even worse, you can’t think your way out of it. Negotiation with the Universe is not an option. It only responds to truth. The more stress and fear, the more you go into your head and become moody, cranky and frustrated (disconnected).

Living at the Speed of Light

The faster the Energy of Life, in other words, the closer you get to the speed of light, the more actual time you have to get everything done. The key to healing is to increase the speed of your life force. The accelerated speed is only the result of freed up energy that was bound up in the past. This in turn massively increases consciousness. Your spirit will soon soar like an eagle and your heart will explode with passion and creative ideas. Sound good? You’re damn right it does!

Down to Earth

No expansion of this magnitude is possible unless you are connected to the ground and to your own reason and will. The “Inner person” will take over and you will no longer look outside yourself for answers. Your process must include clearing up old incidents, traumas and destructive habits. You will then well and truly become free (detached) and the Doors of Providence will open to your dreams….

In these uncertain times it’s more important to know where you stand. Remember your Universe is unique to you. If your inner ground (Inner person) is not anchored to this Earth then your outer person will be blown away by the wind storm.

Remember that birds of a feather flock together. If your foundations are shaking, then you will attract like-minded people. They will confirm your doubt and fear, your negativity or your lack of connectedness. They will collude with you that it’s not your fault or theirs.

If you wish your Universe to be more solid and anchored in truth, then you must dissolve the blocks and create a breakthrough into the Core of your Being. This requires you to have the courage to self- confront, to be willing to go on an inward journey of depth to find the True meaning of your Life and destination.

If you avoid this, you will never be at Peace. You won’t take yourself seriously and neither will others. When you get clear on your inner most feelings, your values will be rock solid. Your self- love and self-respect will permeate the environment. Your Life’s mission will become crystal clear and that which you seek will now seek you. Those dramas and stressful patterns that overwhelm you will flee from you. What a relief!

This is the personal Universe you can create. The more you live in Truth, the more your dreams manifest effortlessly. How can one achieve this state? This journey requires the outer person (Will) to surrender to the Inner person (Being). Your detachment allows a deep reservoir of Wisdom, Faith and Passion to emerge. You must have the courage to get out of your own way, confront your Blind spots, righteousness, selfishness, greed, control or manipulation. These issues are caused by traumas and old stuff that needs to be uprooted. This journey is well worth the effort and the fruits of your labour will exceed your greatest expectations!
